How much heat an AC can absorb, friends 1 Ton is equal to 12000 BTU (British Thermal Unit) This is a unit of heat, so it means that we kept 1000 kg i.e. 1 Ton of ice inside the room. It happened that the capacity of that 1 Ton ice is that it can absorb 12000 BTU of heat from the room in 1 hour and can provide cooling?
Same if we apply 1 Ton AC on this ice place in the same way, then that AC will also do the same thing, what will it do that it will first absorb the heat inside the room and then provide cooling?
If we install 1 Ton AC in a room, then the capacity of that AC is that it can absorb 12000 BTU of heat from that room in 1 hour and provide cooling?
And similarly, if we put 1.5 Ton AC in a room, then the capacity of that AC will be that it can absorb 18000 BTU of heat from that room in 1 hour and provide cooling?
And similarly, if we put 2 Ton AC in a room, then the capacity of that AC will be that it can absorb 24000 BTU heat from that room in 1 hour and provide cooling?

So 1 Ton is equal to 12000 BTU and 1 kW is equal to 3412 BTU so we calculate this,
So Kw = 12000 / 3412
Kw = 3.51 Kw (Killo-watt)
So the value that came here is 3.51 Kw i.e. it means that 1 Ton AC will consume 3.51 Kw power but friends it does not happen because 1 Ton AC is maximum of 1.5 kW to 2 kW. Will the middle power be consumed?
Because friends, the power consumption of AC also depends on many factors like how much is the star rating of that AC, is that AC 3 star or 5 stars, does its power consumption depend on that too?

The area where you are going to install AC, and how much sunlight comes around that room or on which floor that room also depends on all these factors?

So, friends, it is believed that if the area of a room is 100 sq. ft i.e. the length of that room is 10′ feet and breadth is also 10′ feet then 1 Ton AC will work well inside that room?
And if the area of a room is 150 sq. ft i.e. the length of that room is 15′ feet and breadth is 10′ feet then 1.5 Ton AC will work well inside that room?
And if the area of a room is 200 sq. ft i.e. the length of that room is 20′ feet and breadth is 10′ feet then 2 Ton AC will work well inside that room?
So friends, in the same way, we can calculate roughly how many tons should be put in the room of how big size?
